Online Tickets Available for K 2010 Now

Visitors to the K 2010 website www.k-online.de can now purchase tickets for the show (27th October – 3rd November 2010) but at 2007 prices.

The online price is 49 euros instead of 55 euros over the counter. The three day ticket is available online for 108 euros (12 euros less).

To order, simply click on the “Online Ticketing” link and enter the desired number and type of tickets. The admission tickets serve additionally as return tickets for the buses, trams and trains belonging to the Rhine-Ruhr and Rhine-Sieg integrated public transport systems.

In other K 2010 online news, the website registered well over 1 million page views (1,038,891) and 213,973 visits during 2009 – clear signs that K 2007’s online tally will be surpassed this year. The numbers, Messe Düsseldorf believes, are helped by the many useful tools on the site.

Exhibiting companies, for example, can now organise their entire trade fair preparations. Everything to do with participation – choice of stand design, stand equipment, security and logistics – can be booked online.

And just recently activated is the mobile K information system which can be accessed through this link http://mobile.k-online.de. Developed for mobile phones, smartphones and PDAs, it presents the functions of the trade fair portal in a format optimized for mobile devices.

How to Control and Monitor Your Coagulant for Latex Dipping?

Manufacturer: How to control and monitor our coagulant? Our coagulant temperature is about 35ºC.

John Woon (Senior Latex Consultant): All freshly prepared coagulant should be allowed to mature for at least 24 hours before use otherwise the wetting property would not be even over the entire surface of the former.

Your coagulant temperature is considered too low. You need the temperature to be high enough so that once the former is fully withdrawn from the coagulant tank, the coagulant on the former must immediately “set” (i.e. sufficiently dried) so that there is no flow-back of the coagulant on the formers.

This is to ensure an even coating of coagulant and hence the subsequent latex pick-up. I suggest you experiment with higher coagulant temperature, say, 45ºC to 55ºC. But before you do this, determine the “cloud point” first. The coagulant temperature should be about 2ºC above the cloud point.

Malaysian Glove Makers Rally on U.S. Health Bill

Thursday, March 25, 2010

According to an article in bloomberg.com by Chan Tien Hin, "Top Glove Corp. rose to a record, leading a rally by Malaysian rubber glove makers on speculation President Barack Obama’s U.S. health bill will boost sales. Top Glove, the world’s biggest, climbed 2.9 percent to 13.30 ringgit at the close in Kuala Lumpur. Kossan Rubber Industries Bhd., the nation’s third-largest, increased 3.6 percent to 7.68 ringgit, and Adventa Bhd. gained 2.9 percent to 3.50 ringgit.

The benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI Index rose 0.4 percent. Obama’s $940 billion overhaul of U.S. health legislation subsidizes coverage for uninsured Americans, financed by Medicare cuts to hospitals and fees or taxes on insurers, drugmakers, medical-device companies and Americans earning more than $200,000 a year.

The bill may “lead to higher demand for examination gloves in the U.S. when Americans start to visit health-care centers more frequently,” Jason Yap, an analyst at OSK Research Sdn, said in a report today [March 24]. It will “put more strain on the supply of examination gloves, which is still catching up with demand.”

Message from Vystar: Ingredient Branding: A Successful Strategy to Grow Your Brands, Sales and Profits

Computers, soft drinks and frying pans: what do these have in common? More than you might think. You have probably used or seen PC computers with Intel Inside®, diet soft drinks sweetened with Splenda® and cookware made with Teflon®. These key ingredients - Intel, Splenda and Teflon - are also their own brands and provide meaningful and proprietary benefits to the overall product, strengthen its image and increase differentiation by offering a distinct characteristic that competitors cannot offer.

The companies behind these products promote the ingredients to provide added value and enhance the image and quality of the host brand. This marketing strategy is called "ingredient branding."

Vystar® Corporation has created a robust ingredient branding program designed to support you in growing your brands and selling products made with Vytex® Natural Rubber Latex (NRL). A key component of our program is Vystar Professional SupportSM (VPS), which enhances your brand by providing a broad menu of technical, regulatory and marketing support options tailored to your specific needs. Vystar is the only supplier of natural rubber latex offering this higher level of support for our customers.

Vytex NRL is well positioned to be the value-added ingredient for many latex-based products. Its ultra low protein, reduced non-rubber formulation provides numerous end-user benefits as well as production enhancements and cost savings potential for the manufacturer.

Technical

Our global team of scientists, technical advisors and manufacturing specialists can provide technical expertise to address diverse customer needs, ranging from initial evaluation and trials to full integration and commercialization. We continually invest in the future of Vytex NRL as the industry standard for natural rubber latex through ongoing research and development and rigorous testing.

Regulatory and intellectual property (IP)

Navigating the complex regulatory environment for medical device clearances can be challenging. Our experienced team offers regulatory and IP support to manufacturers branding with Vytex NRL, making the regulatory path easier and creating asset value through sound IP licensing practices. With more than 20 years of regulatory experience in the healthcare and technology sectors, we can assist with testing, claims, filings and reporting for new medical device clearances and approvals, including U.S. Food and Drug Administration's 510(k) and Europe's Medical Device Directive (MDD).

PolymerLatex increasing NBR latex prices

Marl, Germany -- PolymerLatex is increasing prices for the NBR latex product range worldwide by 80 USD per tonne wet effective from 1st April 2009. According to the company, the price increase is necessary to offset the continuous rise in raw material costs for Acrylonitrile. Further price increases can not be ruled out, as Butadiene is expected to remain in tight supply world wide.

You are at the site for answers and solutions to all your problems in natural rubber latex processing and manufacturing of industrial, household and medical gloves, condoms, catheters, baby teats and baby pacifiers, toy balloons, latex foam products, latex threads etc.

Water Resistance of Rubber Products

Manufacturer: One customer of ours is asking for the status of water resistance of our products. I thought natural rubber is water repellent by nature. Why is this requirement necessary?

John Woon (Senior Latex Consultant):
You are right in thinking that rubber products are water repellent but please bear in mind that this property for rubber only appears to be superior in comparison to alternative materials such as fabrics, paper, wood and leather.

There is an ASTM standard test for water resistance, similar to the total immersion procedure for oil resistance. Results are usually expressed as weight or volume change of the test specimen.

Compounding ingredients play more important parts than the rubber itself. As far as practically possible one should avoid hydrophilic materials. These water soluble ingredients might also lead to a drop in physical properties after exposure to water, hence the concern of your customer.

You have to ensure your processes include an efficient leaching section. You must use both cold and hot leaching.
