Back after 3 years, the K Show Infuses Optimism in the Plastic and Rubber Industry

Following the enormous success of K 2007, the K 2010 is back after 3 years and is one of the most anticipated events of the year for the plastics and rubber industry. With a record of steadily growing number of exhibitors over the past few years (with the number going up as high as 3,114 in 2007), the K2010 is also expected to attract over 3000 exhibitors, despite the challenging economic conditions.

K 2007

Around 240,000 visitors and over 3100 exhibitors attended the event last time, beating all records in terms of exhibitor numbers. The largest exhibitor contingent was that of suppliers of machinery and equipment, occupying about two thirds of the total exhibition area. Many companies used K to launch their new products. These included Arkema, Ciba, DSM Engineering Plastics, Dow, DuPont, ENGEL, GE Plastics, Krauss-Maffei, and many more.

A total of 57 countries took part in K 2007 and around 57% of the exhibition space was booked by companies based outside Germany. These included Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Taiwan, as well as France, the UK and USA. When divided into continents; K exhibitors from Europe (excluding Germany) booked some 70,000sqm; Asia had taken an additional 5,000sqm to reach 19,000sqm, while North America's share remained almost constant at 6,500sqm.

K 2010

This year's exhibitors include market leaders as well as specialty suppliers or spin-offs from universities that would be showcasing products that characterize today's market and those that will shape the future.
In 19 halls, the latest developments and high-end innovations will be presented according to the four main focal areas of the K:

* Machinery and equipment
* Raw materials, auxiliaries
* Semi-finished products, technical parts and reinforced plastics
* Services.
