U.S. FDA Expands Food Contact Clearance for Eastman 168™ Non-phthalate Plasticizer

Eastman Chemical Company announced U.S. FDA expanded food contact clearance for its Eastman 168™ non-phthalate plasticizer. Food Contact Notification (FCN) 1056 permits the use of Eastman 168 to be used in contact with all food types at levels up to 55 percent by weight of the finished plasticized poly-vinyl chloride (PVC) formulations for repeated use articles.

Customers and brand owners are finding it particularly favorable to use Eastman 168 where regulatory pressures or the choice to use alternatives to ortho-phthalates is driving change. Eastman 168 offers those customers regulatory compliance and differentiation without sacrificing performance or the need for major changes to manufacturing processes.
